    -Sheep husbandry has traditionally been one of, the most viable elements of the agro-economic system of the state of Rajasthan.

    ✏️Eight different sheep breeds have been identified in Rajasthan. These are:
    -Jaisalmeri – It is found mainly in Jaisalmer.
    -Naali – It is found in Hanumangarh, Churu, Bikaner & Jhunjhunu. It yields large quantity of wool.
    -Maalpuri / Malpura – It is found in Jaipur, Dausa, Tonk, Karauli & Sawai Madhopur.
    -Magra – It gives approximately 2 Kg of wool per year. It is found in Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Churu and Nagaur.
    -Pugal – This breed of sheep originated from Pugal in Bikaner.
    -Chokla or Shekhawati – It is also referred to as Marino of India. It yields best quality wool.
    -Sonari or Chanothar – Sonari are distributed in Udaipur and Kota division and are common in sub-humid and humid areas. They can with-stand heavy rainfall conditions and extend into Gujarat state to the south.
    -Marwari – It is found all over Jodhpur, Jaipur and parts of Ajmer division.
    Mistake Points
    -The Sirohi goat is an Indian breed, which is native to the Sirohi district of Rajasthan.
    -The breed is also known as Ajmeri, Devgarhi and Parbatsar.
    -Sirohi goats can be found over the Ajmer, Bhilwara, Japipur and Tonk districts.
