    Options:

    National Social Statistics Office

The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) was set up in 1950, with the idea of having a permanent survey organization to collect data on various facets of the economy.
In order to assist in socio-economic planning and policymaking, NSSO conducts nationwide sample surveys known as National Sample Survey (NSS).
The NSS is a continuing survey in the sense that it is carried out in the form of successive “rounds”, each round usually of a year's duration covering several topics of current interest.
The surveys are conducted through household interviews, using a random sample of households covering practically the entire geographical area of the country.
The government has decided to merge the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) with the Central Statistics Office (CSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
The order dated 23rd May 2019 has cleared the formation of an overarching body – the National Statistical Office (NSO) through the merger of the NSSO and the CSO.
The employees of the NSSO are from the Indian Statistical Service and the Subordinate Statistical Service.
Rao Inderjit Singh is the agency executive of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
