Irrigation
The agricultural practise of applying regulated amounts of water to land to help in crop production, as well as to develop landscape plants and lawns, where it may be known as watering, is known as irrigation.
Modern methods of irrigations includes Drip system and Sprinkler system.
• Sprinkler system:
Pipes are used to spray water onto the fields in the form of rain-like water droplets.
The sprinkler system prevents any water loss.
This system does not have the waterlogging issue.
Drip system:Â
The fields are covered in small pipes with tiny perforations.
Water drips at the plant roots when it passes through pipes and is used for irrigation.
The plants are supplied with water by the roots, which also absorb it.
